I remember this song in the 70's. Was sung by Tony Orlando and Dawn written by Irwin Levine and L. Russell Brown. This songs yellow ribbon became an Icon in many countries throughout the years. After the gulf war in 1990, when troops were returning home, yellow ribbons began popping up every where in the United States. Then it continued with the slogan "Support Our Troops". Every war we have had these ribbons reappear. In 2001 after the 9/11 attack " Operation Yellow Ribbon" was created. In 2003 the yellow ribbons were made into magnets for cars and displayed proudly for our troops serving in Iraq. Just to think that this song written about a prisoner returning home would become an Icon for our Troops three decades later. I really like the fall setting in this video.101 Auntie E Street, Bloggersville, USA
