High School graduations are around the corner. I remember my HS Party.. it was in the beginning of the seventies. I received so many things as I was on my way to College(Seminary) in Cincinnati Ohio. Oh to be going away from home, my friends and family. A Sad Day but Joyful rolled up in one. Here are some photos of that Day.
My Question to you all:
It is now a New Century..What does one give a person Graduating and headed for College?
You can go to An Island Lifeto link up for Aloha Friday.
For my graduation I received money mostly! I think a simple amount is good enough! I haven't known someone who's graduated for awhile so that hasn't come up much! Have a great Friday!

You got me! Money is probably the safest bet, though.
ReplyDeleteI think money or maybe a Visa gift card would be welcome.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if my original comment went through-

What a great time it was in the early seventies!! Gotta love those pics...we have many that look very similar:) Now, I think everyone wants $$. I still like giving actual gifts, but I don't think people want them.
ReplyDeleteOh my. That's quite a party you had. We've got one coming up soon for our granddaughter.
ReplyDeletePersonal experience indicates that cash is the best gift. The recipient can spend it anywhere (unlike a gift card -- yuck!), and it doesn't have to be converted (like a check).
Money I think would be best or gift cards.
ReplyDeleteMoney is always good
ReplyDeleteMoney is the best. They can get what they want. Have a wonderful Friday :)
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite gift was a tin can full of rolled quarters for the laundry machine - very useful.
ReplyDeleteCalling cards, dorm room necessities: fridge, bedding, coffee pot.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics! I think money is the most welcome gift. What all kids want...
ReplyDeletei'm so out of touch. i'd prob do jewelry for a girl and cash for a boy. . . iPods? do people still do personalized gifts?
ReplyDeleteCool pictures. Like others are saying - money. That was I think my #1 thing I got, and what I would give to someone now that is graduating. Can't go wrong with that.
ReplyDeleteMoney is mostly what people give now days.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, money. Yep, that's what is they need (and want). Happy Aloha Friday and thanks for stopping over to my post.

Gosh idk organizing stuff or money?
ReplyDeleteI usually give a GC to Target or money.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures sure could be any of us from that era!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking as a high school teacher and one who has recently had graduates in the house...gift cards! Bed, Bath and Beyond comes to mind. Or the Container Store. Two of my faves!!
