Aloha Friday-FlashBack

We have had quite a week Weather wise. Our state ended up officially with about 80 inches of snow already this winter! We are still digging out. It had cause my brain to remember some past experiences. Some I have shared on my blogs this week.

My Question to you:

What is the one memory you have weather wise that sticks out in your mind?

My Dad reminded me of the time we lived in Belmont New York. It was the first time I really saw a large amount of snow. We lived in the snow belt. He stated, us kids had to shovel the snow. I also remember My Mom making Snow-cream, It was so good! Of course the snow-cream could have been in Rochester New york. We also had a lot of snow there also.

  1. My favorite weather memory is when my sister, myself and our friend made an igloo out of the snow in our front yard-MAN that thing was awesome!! It had windows on both sides, a door with a little entryway where you could slide right in and a slide on the roof where one of us was always stationed as a lookout...I miss that thing. LOL

    Have a wonderful Friday!

  4. Blizzard of 78! In Massachusetts we got over 30 inches of snow. I was in I think 2nd grade & we didn't have school for a week. We lost our electricity & had to go to a friend's house who, picked us up in the middle of the blizzard. Then we had fun for a whole week playing in the snow!

  7. I'm not a part of the meme but wanted to chime in!
My weather memory was in the Bronx, NYC. We lived in a building on a very steep hill. Whenever we had alot of snow, my older brother and I would sit at the window watching people slip and slide down that hill! Watching those adults (Hmmm thats me now!) look silly while clutching the building walls would always make us laugh LOL

Btw thx for your Wordless Wed. link-up! Was so busy didn't get a chance to say thank you till today!

  8. That's easy. The tornadoes. In 2005 our town was hit by 2 tornadoes, 1 of which swept through just a few blocks from our rental home. We got lucky, very lucky!

  9. Just last year I was in Colorado visiting my best friend Lori and we got caught in a tornado. It was HORRIBLE! We were in the car and had no clue what to do. Being pelted by the hail and pushed by the wind...2 kids freaking out in the backseat. HORRIBLE! Makes me shiver just thinking about it.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and ALOHA!

  11. Thanks for sharing your Aloha Friday post with me!

I love your question! Here's what I remember... DH & I were engaged and living in Syracuse. He was supposed to drive me home (in 2 feet of fresh snow) from dance practice. He ended up driving my ENTIRE DANCE TEAM (I was the coach) home (piled 12 college girls into our vehicle), stopping at dorm to dorm and apartment to apartment. It was terrifying, but definitely a team bonding experience!
