Aloha Friday-
This week our internet router decided to die. Our router arrive in the mail the next day and then I had to wait for hubby to come home to set it up. We were without full service internet for about 36 hours. My blackberry (BB)has internet I was able to tether to my netbook and post, but not able to drop. My BB is dial up, so it was slow. It took me over an hour to post Wednesday's Mr KenMore. However I was glad I was able to post somethings. I missed visiting friends, so I am glad for the New router and I am back to visiting you all.
Your Friday Question is.....
What kind of Internet service do you have?
We have Verizon Fios, it is high speed. They have wonderful service. When the router went out, they sent a New replacement right away and then if we needed assistance they were there. It was easy to set back up.

Monday's News-Weekend Update.
I wasn't feeling well over the weekend. Yesterday was the worse day. Today I am feeling better. I watched a SCIFI show called Ice Spiders, that was some strange movie. It takes place in the mountains of Colorado by a ski resort. A research lab had a experiment the went wrong. The Spiders escaped and started killing. As far as SciFi goes it was okay, more like a Class B show. I did watch my Buck Rodgers movie posted below. The running time was 49 minutes. Next week I will post an HD one for your weekend movie. Hope you enjoyed it. You can view it until the 30th of January. Well I'm off to the grocery store and then to read a good book. The New one by Richard Castle.

Family Weekend Time.
Buck Rodgers started out as Anthony Rodgers a fictional character in the 1928 Amazing Stories. in 1929 the characters' name was changed to Buck Rodgers for a comic strip. This was the first comic strip to run as a series in the newspaper. From 1932 through 1947 Buck Rodgers was a radio series. Families gathered around the radio to listen to the first science fiction program broadcast on radio. At the Worlds Fair in 1933-1934 the first ten minute film called "Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century" was shown. These ten minute films were used to promote merchandise at stores. Later in 1950 Buck Rodgers became a Television series. Presented by ABC network, it was broadcast live from station WENR-TV in Chicago, Illinois. The show run for 30 minutes. Later in 1979 NBC undated Buck Rodgers and ran the new series. "Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century-TV series "ran for two seasons. Then a writers strike ending the series.
*"The adventures of Buck Rogers in comic strips, movies, radio and television became an important part of American popular culture. This pop phenomenon paralleled the development of space technology in the 20th Century and introduced Americans to outer space as a familiar environment for swashbuckling adventure."
With today's Vampire movies I thought I would post one on Vampires."Space Vampire" Enjoy the Movie.
If you want to watch full screen, click the arrow button in the upper right corner of the video once the show starts.
This will be the series I will be posting every Weekend for the next two months. It's Family Weekend Time. These videos are available for a short time. Thought it would be nice to have a wholesome family show to watch over the weekend.

Monday's News-Our weekend update....
My weekend had a rough start. Friday I had a hard time focusing due to the anniversary of my mother death. Tried to stay busy throughout the day however, it all caught up to me in the evening. The mourning process can be rough, it seems to come in waves. A tsunami hit me Friday evening.
Saturday morning seem to be better. Hubby and I went on a date to see Avatar. I really liked the movie, wrote about it on my reviews blog. Daughter had boyfriend over for dinner, he liked Friday's weekend menu on the kitchen blog. so had to talk his mother into letting him come over. They played Wii and watched House.
On Sunday hubby got the printer hub up and running for the home. Now we can print from any computer or laptop in the home to the hub.
Today, we will be designing some more work space in the den for hubby. So off to Ikea for some items. I also need to weed out the books, my shelves are getting full. Daughter has Midterms this week, the study will start today. School is out for her today. Need to make plans to go to the mountains for some snow fun. We haven't had our fill yet. February is a great month for that. So let the games begin.

Tell Me Thursday-So Tiny So Big!
Our daughter had just begin Public school, when she was entering third grade. The private school could no long meet her needs. She was testing on a sixth grade level on some subjects but needed to stay in the third grade. Our public school system was able to put her in some advance classes, which continued her academic growth. The elementary school had an Orchestra. it started in the third grade,so the Strings teacher was promoting the instruments. Our daughter came home and said "I want to play the Cello". I heard Cello, thought big instrument, tiny child. How in the world could she play cello!
We took her to the Music store and reluctantly told the clerk she wanted to play cello. We voiced our concern because she was only 3'9" and a cello would be taller than her. I did not know they had sizes from 1/8 to 4/4 sizes. It depends on the age and size of the child. He tried a 3/4 size but it was too much for her. She could not get her arms around it! So that meant the 1/2 size. Still it was about as tall as her.She has had three sizes since elementary school. Now with a full (4/4) size.
Sometimes your child will surprise you. She is a good Cello player in my mind. Still lots of work to do. Taking private lesson with a local well known Orchestra conductor. Maybe someday I will get to hear her playing in the BSO or a Philharmonic orchestra .

A New Look for Crittter
Over the weekend we met up with Critter and his family. Critter got his hair cut. Seeing his new hair, says he is going up. I noticed, along with my sister in law, how much he looks like my Brother. My Brother is Critters Grandfather. I was looking for that photo of my brother at age 6 but have not been able to find it. Next time I go to my dads, I will have to grab some. He really does resemble him. I left home when my brother was 10, so I do not have many photos of him. Of course I was in my teens and most of the photos I have are of my friends. My daughter does the same thing, most of her photos are of friends. I do remember what he looked like and remember one photo that is very close to Critters age now. I can see it in my mind, they do look a like.
They grow up so fast! He likes his hair. stated that it is off his ears and out of his eyes. To me it makes him lose the little boy look. Oh well, like I said he is growing up.

Auntie E's Music Weekend-Coffee Time
For this weekend music, I thought I was put something fun from way back. On Friday my question had to do with headaches remedies. One of the answers was drink a lot of Coffee. I love that solution, so off I was to find a song on coffee. OL' Blue Eyes, as they called him, sang The Coffee Song.
The Coffee Song was Written by Bob Hilliard the music was by Richard Miles. First recorded in 1946 by Frank Sinatra, Ol' Blue Eye's himself.
Hubby has been singing it all day, very catchy tune. He said the song has a great story. Enjoy!

I be thinking of that question for tomorrow post. I want it to be a good one. Have a nice day Y'all.

A Makeover
This bed is the one my daughter wanted for her room. There was a sleep number bed in it but, she felt it took up too much room. We told her we would have to sell her bed before buying a new one. Well, yesterday we sold the sleep number bed. So last night we drove to IKEA. Now the new bed is in pieces to be put together by me,of course! I was just too tired to start last night. As a rule there is no TVs in the Bedrooms. However the Guestroom has one. My daughter got to sleep in the guestroom and watch a little. I do not know if that was a good thing. Kind of like staying at a hotel, did she get any sleep? I'm off to work on the bed. Tomorrow I will post the photos of the process.

Monday's News
Schools back in....hooray. With the snow storms starting off the holidays and the holiday break, the house has been full. Entertaining the teen , feeding the household the whole day, and trying to keep up with the blogs has been a challenge. Why is it that the kids always need to have someone over or go out somewhere. I'm pretty happy at home, there is plenty to do. Then again, when I was a teen I went out a lot. so I guess things don't change much. Now with the teen off to school and the household back to normal I can get back into my routine. However my sleep and awake habit are messed up. Now I seem to sleep until 7 am. Not good! need to get back into the routine of up at 5:30am. How are your routines going, did the holidays mess them up?

Aloha Friday -Games People Play
Had a wonderful time with Family this week. We went to Dads on the 26th December. We played some new games we received for Christmas.
One was Spoons, it is a card game that is played like musical chairs only there is no music played. The one would gets the last spoon wins, one has to be fast with there eyes and hands.
Another one we played was a diced game called LCR , Left Center or Right. You play with diced and chips,to win you must be the only one left with a chips.
The last one is called Apples to Apples. This one you is played with cards, one tries to read the mind of the person who is the judge. The judge rotates in the game, it was really fun. We played it at a friends home on Christmas day and my daughter bought it while at Dads. I love playing games with the family and was so glad to play with Dad.
As a child we played games all the time as a family. Dad still has a lot of those games we played. So this is my Aloha Friday Question for you:
What kinds of games did you play with your family as a child?
Do you play games together with you family now?
