Friday's Question-Televsion Flashback

My Dad worked in Television when I was young. We lived in Cincinnati Ohio when I was about five years old. Don't really remember watching much television, my brother's and I would Play outside. Most folks can remember having a television and watching it all the time. For me the first time I really remember watching it is about the age of thirteen. At that time we lived in Rochester New York, I was in the seventh grade. back then there was no middle schools, so I was going to high school. In the 1960's Television really took off, Most people by that time, could afford a television. My Dad was once again was working in Television. Shows were starting to emerge that were family friendly. Like, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffin Show, The Avengers, Flipper, Get Smart, Gilligan's Island, Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C, and many more. The networks were flooded. Television came on at about 9 am and went off about 11pm. No 24 hour television like today.
I have been posting a TV Flashback Series this past week (link on upper right side bar).We are looking at Gilligan's Island and the differences in the seasons episodes. Tomorrow post be the first episode of the second season.

Since Friday's are Ask A Question Day Here is yours:

What was your favorite Television show you first remember watching?

Mine was Dark Shadows a weekly soap opera. I would rush home from High School to watch it.

  5. The earliest I remember is Captain Kangaroo in 1958 and it's funny because over the years he always looked the same to me.

  12. I remember watching the Honeymooners with my dad. My mom didn't approve--she didn't like the way Jackie Gleason talked to Alice, so my dad would sneak it on and let us watch with him. Good memories.
