Monday News.. A Look back on the week

Boy this was a great week. We went to The Gaylord National on the National Harbor for a few days. Saw some great things there.
This is a show of all ice sculptures. The Temps was 5 degrees. Every thing was made from ice. They handed out parkas to keep one warm as we walked through.

We had breakfast with some Characters from Shrek

Then we bumped into some friends and they told us to walk into the town. There we saw big tree.

On Friday we took a boat to Old Alexandra. Had not been there before. I really like it. The was a free King Street trolley. So we hopped on and got to see a lot. Now we know how to get there by the Metro. We will surely go back there for a day.

Next we drove home, traffic was not bad.

Saturday went out to the Mall to return a few things. Not presents just some items I purchased. The mall closed early due to New Years Eve. We came home and rang in the New year There. I can never seem to stay awake on that day. It seems like I can on other days but the New Years Eve. Anyway I did wake up to firecrackers going off in the neighborhood. It is against the law here, but the folks do not care about Laws! I always thank the Lord the homes do not catch fire.

One thing I missed this year was the Rose Parade and game. It was moved to Monday,today, I did not like that! I feel It is an American tradition to watch it on News Years Day. Yesterday felt like a regular day. Now the Kids here will not get to enjoy the parade or game. Because they had to go to school! No Holiday for them only for the Nation! What a mistake our county made.

Spring Break-Headed to the Beach.

So, the time is here for a family Trip. It is spring break and we are headed to Virginia Beach. Weather is suppose to be in the 80's tomorrow and then in the 60's until Saturday. Easter Sunday back into the 80's. Granny is in her mid Nineties. Looking forward to seeing Dad.

Time to Travel- Off to Boston

Well the Vacation time begins. I am off to Boston tomorrow. I am chaperoning a high school band and orchestra trip. Our days are very planed. Going to a few place as well as the competition. As normal, I will be posting live photo feed on my Auntie E's On the Go blog. Be sure to check in, it will begin on Friday. Salem is our first stop.

As I mention vaction time has begun. In April we will be going to Virginia Beach. In May it's off to Florida. June to Pennsylvania for a class reunion. I really want to go back to Canada. So I think I will try to fit that in with my daughter some how. The Class reunion is really for Hubby. There will be a family one attached. However some down time also. July is still up in the air. Looking into Georgia, Tennessee area. August will be a surprise. I am working on it now, No Lyd I will not reveal! I love surprises.

Now to some explanations on my slow down in blogging. My daughter has been on me because I have not been blogging that much. I felt I needed a break. Sometimes it can get overwhelming trying to find things to write. Although live is still going on. I have been down a little and not feeling well. As must of you know trying to get back in the swing of things after a sickness can be hard. So Now I will be back with my Monday News and Wednesday photos and Friday questions. I took about a month off.

Now that the trips are starting, I will be active again. For all those who want to advertise on my blogs welcome back. I use Adgitize and CMF as well as Entrecard.

Looking forward to some new info on Vacations sites and our spring/ summer fun. Fresh new material to share. Well, have to go now and get ready for this Boston trip.

Monday's News- A Full Festive Time

Our weekend started on Thursday due to the Holiday. We went to Chesapeake,Virginia to spend the holiday with Dad. I stated the holiday cooking on Wednesday. Thursday we were joined by, My Brother and his family, My Grandmother and Grandfather and My SIL and her family. We ended up with 14 people for our Thanksgiving meal. It was so nice and my Dad loved having all the folks in his house again. It amazes me how I still know my way around the kitchen. Not having Mom there was hard on a few of us,however I still feel at home there.

After we ate, the kids went out to play around....Took Critter to see the Blue Water tower,

He had never seen one.

Now this is a funny story... Across the street is an Old City Church.

Critter said to AuntieE " Wow...That is a big house".
Auntie E said "Oh that's a Church".
His reply "Oh Really?"

Then it dawned on us, that all he knows is churches at schools and the Big Church Building at McLean, Va (McLean Bible Church). At that church he goes from a huge Parking lot into a very large building. So we all had a good laugh. Now I will need to introduce him to some small churches sometime.

Friday my family and Dad went to see Christmas Town at Busch Garden. Oh there were lots of Blue lights in the villages.

I really loved that place. Got so many Ideas for Lighting and Christmas decoration.

Saturday we went to Colonial Williamsburg to do some shopping in the old merchant market.
I loved the feeling there.The sights and sound were so festive.
Arriving home late in the evening. We unpacked the car and went to bed.

Sunday we went to McLean Bible Church. Then went shopping at the Mall for the Angel tree kids. In the evening we went to get some lights for decorating the yard and porch. Our mail box was hit so we had to also purchase a new one to install. That is today's Project and of course the lights are on the list also.
