Aloha Friday-Collectibles
Many of us have Collectibles in our households. I find at time it is hard to let go of them.
One that I have is a Green Teddy Bear from Hungary. While living in Europe we visited Budapest, what a lovely place. Saw a Green teddy bear with the biggest eyes. Today one of its arms has fallen off, however I still have the bear and its arm in my closet. Every time a see it my mind goes back to the day my Hubby, his Mother Dee, Our friends "The Todd's", and I spent in Budapest. Dee is gone now from this earth, The Todd's are lost to us somewhere on this earth but, the memories of a wonderful time we all had is still with that Green Teddy Bear.
Your Question:
Do you have a Collectible that holds Memories for you?

I collect dated Hallmark Christmas ornaments for every year we have been married. I look forward every year of hanging them in order and think about that year. We are up to 29!!
ReplyDeleteCMash

I am a very sentimental/emotional person lol
I used to collect teapots but with young children I am staying away from the breakables right now. I guess now I collect kitchen devices. Lol. Much more useful!

I don't really have anything with special meaning, but I do love my shot glasses from around the world :)
ReplyDeleteI have a little glass doll that was given to me when I was baptized and I cherish it.
ReplyDeleteI have several Christmas ornaments and decorations from my grandmother than always remind me of holidays from my childhood.
ReplyDeleteI have some that were given to me as a child.
ReplyDeleteI am a pack rat and just about everything I have contains a sentimental memory for me. A weird thing that I collect and have them in various places around the house is movie stubs. I like to keep the movie stubs just because I like to remember the great time I had at the movies. I don't know why I do it, its something I started as girl and have just continued with it as an adult. You'd think that if it meant so much to me I would keep them all in one place!
ReplyDeleteYes, I do. Several. One is a little porcelain rag doll (porcelain arms head and feet, and the rest just cloth). When I was little our parents went to visit family in new England. There was a little shop with all sorts of quaint toys and nicknacks. I saw her and loved her immediately. I bought her with my own money ($10 from my grandma for my birthday--which was exactly what she cost), and named her Mandy. I played with her constantly. She has lost a foot now which came off and I have her and the foot in the drawer waiting to be fixed. But every time I look at her I'm taken back to my childhood.
ReplyDeleteI have some angels that my husband gave to me when we meet.
