Cripple Creek-Where did you go?

Visited Cripple Creek in Colorado with friends on Friday. Boy was I surprised, Everything changed. It is now Mostly a Games and Gambling Town. Even though the main part of town still has it's Old Charm outside, the inside is all Adultized. My Daughter couldn't go into any building because of their Laws! So we had Lunch and went on our way to one of the private mines. We decided not to return to Cripple Creep and just hang on to our Pass Memories of an old West Town with Saloons , Stores and Hotels and friendly people who knew how to have fun.
The Saying " You can never go back, It's never the Same" proved itself Friday in Cripple Creek Colorado.

The food was good. It was a small place, so we had to wait for a table large enough. The casino was up stairs, we went up there but was kicked out because our daughter was not old enough to be there. Therefore we had to wait out out time in the small lobby.

Hope you have a happy and safe 4th of July.

Please stop by Lin's Duck and Wheel With String to vote for me, Lola, in her First Official Dork-Off Contest. Vote for my photo, because my kindergarten photo is THE dorkiest.

  3. It is amazing how greed can change such a beautiful place into a world of gambling.

  4. Many years ago I tried going back to the place where I'd grown up in England only to find that it had changed so much and I really didn't enjoy the visit.

As I mentioned in my reply to your comment on my blog, even though I have driven through Colorado before I have never really visited and would like to ... maybe next year sometime!

    Nice pictures!
