Monday News: Crazy week.

I turned one year older last week. Now I am going to start going backward on the numbers for sure. I really do not feel as old as I am. For my Birthday I receive a surprise visit from my Dad. It was very nice of the family to do that and they really did keep it a secret. Received a Gift card to my favorite place Williams Sonoma from my daughter. You know what that means.... more gadgets! Oh I love it. Saw on of my gadget on the Today Show, Emeril Lagassse used it! I will be featuring that one on my "Kitchen Gadget" post at my Kitchen site soon.

Hubbys' sister drop in from North Carolina for a day. That was great also. She had never been to our home. We had a great time. She went with us to Lyds Cello lesson, got to see first hand how she learns to play. As well as meet her Cello teacher. She left to go see her older brother in Charlottesville. He is not in good health.

Talking about Health, Hubby had appointments to see a few doctors last week. We found out that he has over 14 kidney stones and the cyst on the right kidney. Might be the cause for the blood clots. He will now be undergoing more test to check this out. It seems like they had gotten the blood thinned to the right amount. He is going to see an Pulmonary doctor to take a look at how the blog clots in the lungs are doing. Saw a heart Doctor and it looks like the heart is fine. No clots in it as of now. Will be seeing an allergist to check out the cause for all these respiratory issues. I really think it is something he is allergic to. We need to find out what it is so, we can take care of it. So many issues for him health wise. I am still hopeful for a longer life together. We have been together for over 35 years. We just celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary this past month.

Our weather was a little colder than usual. However it is fall and the weather can have great swings in temp.
We had a generator switch added to the home. this will make it easier to switch over to the generator of needed. Used the pellet stove this weekend, it is working great. this morning the temp was at 29 F. A frigid morning indeed.

Some Blue photos of our trip to the Park a few weeks ago.

Here is the costume Lyd has chosen for today's Halloween activities.

How is the weather in your neck of the woods?

Aloha Friday....End of time?

Today is the day according to a person (Harold Camping) the earth to end.
2011 AD—On May 21st, Judgment Day will begin and the rapture (the taking up into heaven of God’s elect people) will occur at the end of the 23-year great tribulation. On October 21st, the world will be destroyed by fire (7000 years from the flood; 13,023 years from creation).
My mind keeps reminding me that Jesus said "No one know the end of time but God himself, not even I know...". So I do not believe it when someone says the end to time is here and He is there.

However, I watched The Chew, a Cooking program on TV, they had the last supper Meals. Things folks would endulge in if they knew this was the end of time. Thought it was quite interesting. That got me thinking ....

What would be your choice for a Last Supper?

I would love antipasti for an appetizer, a Good Lasagna with garlic bread and a glass of red wine. Then for dessert a piece of Coconut Cake.

don't forget to visit An Island Life to see more Friday questions.

Tuesday News.....Family Updates,

Well, It has been busy around here. Over the weekend we had Critter and his sister over. Went out to a farm on Saturday, Friday we made cookies and donuts. Also watch a couple of DVDs here,One in 3D. We watched Old Dogs, a Disney movie it was so good. Started out a little slow but once it got going the laughs were great. We really did have fun with the kids.

It was a nice break from the worries of hubby health. As you might know, He had 2 blood clots in his lung. Was in the hospital for a short while. They put him on Blood thinners and told us the next 6 months are at risk for more clots. Monday the doctor called and they looked at the scans done last week. He has a clot in the heart. As well as a kidney stone and cyst on it. However it did not look cancerous. Now he will be going to a cardiologist to have the clot in heart looked at. His pains are coming and going now. Sharp ones at that. It is a little scary to me, I really do not want to lose him. Our daughter is graduating this year and we are looking forward to traveling together again. My husband and I have been together for over 34 years. We never prepared for being apart.

So as you can see I have been preoccupied with family issues. Therefore I have not been posting as much on my blogs. I hope to get back to them soon. Continue to stop by I will try to keep this one up to date on the family issues.

Tuesday's News- Updates and a favorite drink...

Well my Hubby has been on two blood thinners since last Wednesday. He had two Pulmonary Blood clots in one of his lungs. The doctors are trying to thin the blood to prevent other clots from forming. Today he went to the hospital for test and the blood is still not thinning. So , we will have to continue the Lovenox shots in his belly. He will have to stay on the thinners for 6 months. We were hoping the shots would stop today, not the case at least one more week. we still do not know if he has any more clots in his abdomen. the test are not back. Still waiting for the Cancer screening test to come back. Will have to get a second opinion though.

We really did not do much over the weekend. Went out to a few stores for food and lighting. I replace the lights over the kitchen sink and counters. I like the newer ones. It allows the upper cabinets to be lit.

On Sunday we went to church and met up with family. Hubby had made an appointment to get my car detailed and cleaned. We went out to eat at a upscale restaurant. Then we walked around the upscale Mall. Everything from Shoes to scarfs was over 100 dollars,. I like a pair of boots, they were only 1,765.99, that right over seventeen hundred dollars. Hubby saw a jacket he liked.. the price...1,249.99. Then he eyed another it was only 700.00. He said well what a good deal only half the price as the first one, we laughed. Needless to say we just browsed.

I have been liking the Pumpkin spice lattes. However they are expensive, so I only have one on Sundays. While at the mall I stopped into my favorite store, Williams Sonoma. They had the syrup for the pumpkin spice lattes, I pick up two of them, now I can make my own at home for a fraction of the cost. I have enjoy a couple already.
I think it was a very busy day for hubby. He came home and went to sleep. Even my daughter rested a bit.

How did you long weekend go?
